The Husband's Secret
Do you remember the first season of 'Desperate Housewives'? When it was actually good? Intriguing and sinister? When evil lurked right around the corner in beautifully manicured suburban lawns? Everyone hid at least some bone fragments in their closet and everyone seemed to know. There was a little bit of a soap and a little bit of suspense. Lane Moriarty creates a similar sensibility in her Australian version of suburban dysfunction. While it drags at the end and resorts to cheap thrill at times, "A Husband's Secret" is mostly a satisfying novel.
Liane Moriarty is a good writer and creates predictable but witty characters. Here are some quotes that I particularly liked.
