Devices?
A couple years ago we got the kids iPod Touches tentatively, fearing that they'd always be on them. Since then we've observed that they obsess over them just like they do about other things - but not anymore. They still like paper books to read, play board games, indulge in painting, arts and craftwork or play music or dance and do comic routines. As of now - they still prefer to spend time with a human over spending time with a device. And that is all right.
The lasting impact of this use of technology is somewhat unclear. Who knows - maybe since they've had access to device since early childhood - they may evolve to better immunize themselves against our generation's damning affliction.
