Walden
Nestled in a beautiful forest reserve not too far from Boston is the pond made famous by Henry David Thoreau's resignation from society. We had the good fortune of visiting Walden last year and it was just the most magical experience. It was the kind of day that felt like if there was a place fitting for Walden's celebrated but failed experiment then this was it. There was a sense of calm, a depth, a dip into the past with a call to the future. Something reassuring and comforting. I don't know what it was. It was magical.
I wish we had more time.
