Boys From Brazil
This sinister about a crazy Nazi plot to revive Hitler for the 80s is as 70s as you can get. A strange concoction of good and bad, this film is scary in the possibilities it portrays and also funny in how improbable they seem.
Gergory Peck plays a rare villainous character. I think it is a welcome change from his years and years of playing the most agreeable guy on the planet.
Laurence Olivier plays an ageing Nazi hunter Jew. His accents is not the best in the world and strangely he is more a comic figure in the movie than heroic -- which actually weakens the film considerably.
Mr. Schaffner who has directed some amazing movies including Planet of the apes, Patton and Papillon does not quite do justice to the Ira Levin novel of the same name.
