Raising Arizona

This is another one of the gems of the Director - Writer team of the brothers Joel Coen and Ethan Coen. Uprourasly funny portreyal of small town America -- all with entreprenuers, bounty hunters, ex-cons and ex-cops and of course the wonderful sextuplets.

A wild wacky twisted plot finds Nic Cage and Holly Hunter as a barren pair dying for paternal bliss. So crazy that they decide to steal someone elses when they can't find their own. "They have more than they need and we are just taking one", quips Holly Hunter in an unforgettably amiable role.

John Goodman and Frances McDormand round up the usual Coen crew. Nic Cage is superb too. One of his more controlled and sensible performances.

The Coen brothers have tried a classic mix of violence with an undertone of humour in this film. Full of great one liners, extra ordinary scenes -- one specially worth mentioning is when Cage decides to rob a department store to buy Huggies for the little infant -- that leads to a hilarious and long chase sequence.

This one is not to be missed by anyone with a taste for wacky movies. If your sensibilities are overly refined then you might want to stay away.
