I wrote recently about how I love the beautiful and simple activity tracking app called "Moves". And today I learn that Facebook has acquired Moves. While this validates that Facebook has an eye for talent and a good finished product it is little bit of a bummer nonetheless. Unlike most tech-nerds I am not a Facebook hater. But still, I find it disconcerting when a company buys other companies almost like it is building a personal art collection.
Facebook hasn't done anything bad with Instagram or What's app yet. However, my use of both those apps has greatly reduced after Facebook bought them. I hope Moves doesn't go that way as well.
Will anything good be left by the time Facebook and Google are done?
