I had the good fortune of recently attending a Jack White concert at the Madison Sq. Garden in New York City. I have always liked Jack White's music a lot but lately I had lost track of him among the many others. Fortunately, the concert made me do some homework and I found great tracks in his last two solo albums - 'Lazaretto' and 'Blunderbuss' that I had overlooked. Jack White is one of the most talented artists working actively today. His music is lively, energetic, innovative and fun. It speaks to his incredible talent that apart from his recent solo acts he has formed three other fairly popular rock bands each playing a slightly different kind of music.
Jack White gained prominence and popularity in the early 2000s as the key member of the garage rock group The White Stripes. The White Stripes was an incredibly innovative, critically acclaimed band making blues infused garage rock with tones of punk and metal. Then came his second band, The Raconteurs formed with his friend Brendon Benson from Nashville producing big hits like 'Steady, As She Goes'. Their second album 'Consolers of the Lonely' features some great songs like 'Old Enough' and 'Top Yourself'.
His Third band was The Dead Weather with Alison Mosshart as the lead signer. His last two solo albums are excellent. I hope Jack White continues to product the kind of music that moves, teases and excites us.
Here is a playlist I put together on Spotify to track and enjoy some of my favorite Jack White songs from across his many bands and solo acts.
