Consider two recent examples - Today Siri couldn't tell me who won the best actor award at the Oscars last night. The day after the 50th Super Bowl, Siri couldn't tell me who won the Super Bowl. In contrast - a google search last night during the Oscars was already showing me results related to the event that was unfolding in real time!
One can easily dismiss these particular incidents as Siri not being designed for current events or that I am "using it wrong". However, this presents a troubling trend in how Apple may be seeing Siri in particular and information in general. The future belongs to disposable devices (and by extension, device makers) using disposable UI to serve pertinent information. While devices and UI, even if disposable, need to be good at serving information, it is still information that will lead the way. People will "buy" for information and not for "devices".
