iPhone autocorrect suggestions are not up to the mark
I’ve been a Mac user for 20 years and an IPhone user for 10 years. And yet still, every time I try to type my own name Apple’s OS can never figure out who I am. I have the correct contact card for myself. I also have many Yagniks in my address book. But no. I have no idea where it’s completely useless random suggestions are coming from. I have never typed or used ‘Yagnk’ - the very first suggestion or the last - ‘Yagnic’. I do have someone in my address book that spells Yagnik as ‘Yagnick’ but that is against 20 others who use ‘Yagnik’.
Same thing happens with email. Never knows my email and sometimes shows the wrong phone number.
I am sure this is protecting my “privacy” and keeping me “safe” somehow. if this is really due to that then I am afraid it is the wrong choice. Apple should figure out a way to make my life easier without sacrificing my privacy. This is easy stuff. A lot of the data needed to improve this is already on my phone!
We are over a decade and a half in and autocorrect cannot be still be this bad. I hear ios17 improves this but I have heard that before and I am not holding my breath.
