White Balance

The easiest way for you to quickly turn your photos up a notch is to not use your camera's "Auto White Balance" but to set it specifically.

This is probably the only thing in photography that is "obvious"

Its as simple as:
  • Use Tungsten when indoors
  • Use Shade when in a shade on a sunny day
  • Use Cloudy when out on a cloudy day
  • Use Fluorescent light when in Fluorescent light
  • Use Sunny when in bright sun
Of course you can play around with these to get dramatic impacts. Skylines at night look awesome with coolness of tungsten; portraits look personal with warmth of cloudy WB and so on.
