Visiting the Long Island Wine Country makes for an incredible day tour from New York City. The main attraction aren't the wines, I think, but the beautiful lush green landscapes. It is a bit of a drive from the city but if you start early you are in for a treat. The trip is best made in summer or early fall. The natural surrounds are full of color much to any photographer's delight.
Most vineyards offer seating and light snacks with various wine tasting options. There are many vineyards to choose from but Wolffer Estates and Duckwalk vineyards were our favorites.
This is from Week #258 of the 300-week project.
