I have been photographing the "Tribute in Light" for almost 15 years now. I have had a great attraction for the spirit of this yearly memorial created in the air by projecting two giant beams of blue light commemorating the two fallen towers in downtown New York City. I have taken a few photos almost every year since then.
I saw the twin towers fall on September 11, 2001. My wife worked in the North tower but luckily didn't get to work that day. We have fond memories of visiting, shopping, dining, and generally hanging out near the towers. We didn't know at the time but the twin towers were special to us just as they were to so many. We saw them every day while leaving to work and coming back. We saw them every evening. And since 9/11/2001 we have been seeing the empty void and then the new tower that slowly and now has categorically taken the symbolic place of the old towers. The skyline now looks bold and bright again.

Here is my tribute to the Tribute in Light: 15 photos to mark the occasion of the 15th anniversary of 9/11. Featuring my favorite building in the favorite city in the world.
One of my favorites. I like the deep blacks and general sense of doom - From 2010
Another one I like a lot - the stairway seems to take you down to the lights - From 2011
Probably my favorite - I like the composition and the light streak across the city - From 2014
