Ridley Scott (Bladerunner, Gladiator, Hannibal, Thelma & Louise) gives his usual style and slick to the movie. A polished and crisp effort. The movie is vague enough for the viewer to be intrigued and terrifying enough for the viewer to be interested. Though a bit dark, the movie picturizes some great scenes on the other planet. Very smart action sequences too.
Sigouney Weaver is brilliant as a hard-nosed space cadet. She has been an inspiration for several hollywood female actions stars -- none quite matching her success or popularity.
