The 10th book I read in 2024 was ‘Joe Country’ by Mick Herron. This is book #6 in Herron’s brilliant ‘Slough House’ series that has now become mainstream due to the excellent show, Slow Horses, currently in season 4 on Apple TV+.

In this book, our heroes get lost in wild snow country where spies go to die. I found this book to be the weakest in the series so far. The plot didn’t work for me and Herron for once seemed to be reaching. Having said that, I am still loving this series and cannot wait to get to book #7.
