Smack in the urban wasteland of Newark is the sprawling 360-acre Branch Brook Park that boasts of the largest collection of Cherry Blossom trees in the United States. There are over 4,300 trees so loaded with flowers that on certain days in the month of April you see a carpet of pink and white petals on the floor and up in the sky.
Branch Brook may be one of the most underrated parks out there. I have been visiting regularly for about 8 years now. It is a treat not to be missed if you happen to be in the area.

Some of the photos are from the 300-week project of the firstborn - from over 8 years ago.
