The 17th book I read in 2023 was ‘Animal Farm’ by George Orwell. Every year I read a couple books that I read and enjoyed a long time ago and don’t recall the specifics very well anymore. It is hard to believe how well this book has stood the test of time and most unfortunately is probably even more applicable than it ever was. If anything, it was written for a specific place and time, but it is applicable now to pretty much every place and variant ideologies. It is frightening how lucid its message is and yet how difficult for us to grasp.
