The 12th book I read in 2024 was Jennifer Egan’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, ‘A visit from the goon squad’. This is modern narrative of interlinked stories of various characters spanning several decades from 1970s to the near future. This is a highly celebrated book that I really wanted to like but couldn’t really get myself to do so. I found the stories amusing but not overly so. I didn’t really like any of the characters and honestly failed to grasp the point of this book.
