The 13th book I read (this one I actually listened to) in 2023 was ‘The Chimes’ by Charles Dickens. Nice little book that acts like a companion piece to the much more famous, “A Christmas Carol”. It is bleak in the usual Dickensonian way but end with a soft glimmer of hope. A pertinent read in the appropriate season.
